Born in 1981 in Hyogo Prefecture, Japan, from an early age, Yasuhiro loved drawing and crafts. At junior high school, he became fascinated by car design. After graduating from design school, he worked in the design department of a printing company whilst also setting up his own T-shirt brand, responsible for creating original designs, production and selling.

TRUNK DESIGN began by providing holistic consultation for local businesses, including product and brand development, advertisements, distribution support, and overseas expansion.
In 2011, “Hyogo craft” was launched, promoting the craftsmanship of Hyogo Prefecture.
TRUNK DESIGN has worked on projects such as “Morino no Utsuwa” (Forest Utensils), unique woodenware made from locally sourced timber in Hyogo Prefecture, a by-product from forest-thinning, apparel brands “iRoDoRi” and “megulu” made in collaboration with Banshu weaving craftspeople, and incense brands “Ku” and “Daily”, incense for everyday use, in collaboration with the maker on Awaji Island.
In recent years, the team has expanded to provide support for craft-making, not only in Hyogo Prefecture but throughout Japan. TRUNK DESIGN has initiated projects, acting as the starting point for connecting “people, things and experiences” to create new value-led products.
